our Gites in Brittany -
Self Catering Cottage Accommodation in Brittany
Our Gites in Brittany offer a peaceful and private setting in a rural area
of Brittany ideal for both exploring and relaxing. It is an ideal family holiday location
because our Gites in Brittany are just 1.5 kms from a small bustling town called Gouarec, about
10 minutes from Lac de Guerledan with its delightful sandy beaches perfect
for all ages, 35 minutes from the north Brittany coast at St Brieuc and an hour or so from the southern Brittany
coast.
Our
gites are both newly decorated and furnished, and offer every modern
convenience but in a 16th century setting with lots of stone, wonderful
beams and original granite stone fireplaces now fitted with log burners to
keep you warm and cosy if you choose to visit us out of season. We also welcome long
term lets which are ideal for those looking to buy a property in the
area: please call us to discuss your requirements. Our holiday cottages are Les
Hirondelles,
which is named for our swallows, sleeps 14, and Les Chouettes,
which is named for our barn owls, sleeps 8.
Exposed
beams, thick walls and an air of calmness about the place make this a lovely
base from which to explore, or you can relax and laze away the hours in the
sunshine by the pool with a good book.
Les Hirondelles - the first of our gites in
Brittany
Les Hirondelles is an early 16th century
stone manoir which is very spacious with lots of character features including a magnificent granite
fireplace in the sitting room, a stone spiral staircase in its own tower,
lots of beams and flagstoned floors. There is a large woodburner and
it is also centrally heated making it ideal for large family gatherings
during the winter. All the rooms are very spacious. The sitting room has 2
comfortable sofas plus an armchair and foot stool, English and French
satellite television with DVD player and a music centre.
There is a wide selection of English books,
videos and board games to suit all ages.
 
The dining room has a large oak
refectory table which can seat 14 and there is a very well fitted and
equipped kitchen with a range cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing
machine, microwave, etc, in fact everything you could possibly need!
There is a double bedroom on the ground floor which has a king sized bed and
an en suite wet/shower room.
 Upstairs
there are 3 bedrooms: one has a king sized bed with an en suite shower
room; one has a king sized bed with an en suite bathroom; and one has 3 sets
of full size bunk beds with the possibility of 2 extra single beds on the
mezzanine and has its own private shower room.
There is a lovely garden and patio area with table, chairs, sunshade,
barbecue, etc. There is a locked gate which opens into the gardens
surrounding the heated swimming pool and terrace area.
The Gite is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, kitchen utensils,
duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels.

Les Chouettes is an early 16th century
stone cottage in typically Breton style.
It has electric radiators to heat the bedrooms and also the shower rooms.
It is fully tiled throughout the ground floor and has pine floors upstairs
which are both child friendly. The ground floor
of this cottage is a spacious open plan area with exposed beams and a wood
burner set into a huge original granite fireplace, a very large comfortable
sofa, English satellite TV with DVD and video players, music centre, dining
table and chairs, and well equipped and fitted kitchen area with cooker,
microwave, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is a wide selection of English books,
videos and board games to suit all ages.

There is a
lovely garden
and patio area with table, chairs, sunshade, barbecue and outdoor games
for this Gite.
There is a locked gate which opens into the gardens surrounding the heated swimming pool and terrace

Going back inside, pine
stairs lead to the first floor:
Bedroom 1
with a king size bed and en-suite shower room,
Bedroom 2 with a double bed, Bedroom 3
with 2 sets of sturdy pine bunk beds, and a family shower room.
The Gite is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, kitchen utensils,
duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels.

Other
Information
There is ample
parking within the grounds for people staying in our Gites in Brittany.
Baby
Equipment: No need to bring yours and take up valuable space in
your
car because we can provide cot, high chair and baby bath for you; but as
formula milk is expensive here and you may not be able to get your usual
brand, it's a good idea to bring your own supply to the Gites.
Our HEATED SWIMMING POOL is
approximately 36ft x 15ft x 4ft and is available from 22 May to 4 September 2010. It has been carefully located near to our Gites and landscaped to be
in the sun all day but where there are nearby mature trees to provide that
all important shade when necessary. Lots of sun loungers, chairs, tables and
parasols are provided plus assorted inflatables for children of all ages to
play with!.

are given in Sterling per week, if paying in euros the exchange rate will be
confirmed at the time of booking)
All
bed linen and house towels (bath sheets and hand towels) are included in our prices so you'll have more space in your
car to take home your Breton presents and produce including wine and cider!
